Two things i always love
Light and crispy dosa drizzled with little ghee and filled with fav masala , have it with hot sambar ….. aaahhhhh the i cannot explain the happiness i get 🙂
Another thing i love is beetroot , because of its beautiful color and it has lots of nutrients
I always thought of clubbing these two together but wondered how it will taste
Once i had Masala Dosa from Indian Coffee House and Viola , it became my favorite the Crispy Crunchy Dosa and lovely Beet root Masala .
Today i am going to share a replica of Beet root Masala Dosa by Indian coffee house .
Lets kick start 2017 with this recipe …. This time its step by step 🙂

Beet Root Masal Dosa
Ingredients
- Dosa Batter – (AS REQUIRED FOR MAKING DOSA )
- Salt – reuired
- Ghee for drizzling
- Onions- 2 thinly sliced
- Green chili -1
- Grated beetroot- 1 cup
- Grated Carrot- 1/2 cup
- Boiled Potato- 1 (optional)
- Turmeric powder- 1/4 tsp
- Chili powder-1 tsp
- Asafoetida- a pinch
- Oil – for tadka
- Mustard seeds -1/2 tsp
- Curry leaves- few
- Coriander leaves- a few
- Dry chili
Method
Fist step Prepare the Masala
- In a pan add oil, add mustard seeds and let it crackle
- Add dry chili, and curry leaves
- Add in onion, green chili and saute for a while
- then add grated beetroot and grated carrot
- saute well, add turmeric, chili powder, a pinch of asafoetida and mix well
- Mash the potato and add in to the masala (this step is optional you can skip this step and move to next step)
- Mix everything well add coriander leaves and keep it aside
- Our filling is ready
- Now Take dosa batter , add salt and mix well
- Heat your dosa tawa /Pan
- Pour laddle of batter in to the pan and swirl begging from middle to the end in clockwise direction
- drizzle little bit of ghee
- Add little masala in the middle and fold
- Cook on both sides till golden
- Serve Hot with Chutney…………… yumm yumm
