Aloo Baji

This is the Best Baji ever , easy and taste the best .Goes well with Pooris , Masala Dosas Chappathis, Sandwiches etc

Here is the recipe

Aloo  Baji



  1. Potato washed peeled and cubed-2
  2. turmeric Powder-1/4tsp
  3. Salt- Add accordingly
  4. Oil
  5. Chana dal -1/4 tsp
  6. Mustard seeds-1/4 tsp
  7. Dry chili -2
  8. Hing /Asafoetida -a pinch
  9. Green chili -1 splint into half
  10. Gram masala – a pinch
  11. Curry leaves/ Coriander leaves


  1. Cook cubed potatoes with water salt and turmeric , Cook until soft.
  2. Let it cool
  3. For Tadka-In a pan add  Oil, then add Chana dal, Mustard seeds let it pop
  4. then add in dry chili, hing/asafoetida, green chili and curry leaves.
  5. Saute for a minute
  6. Now add the Cooked potatoes and mix well. If salt is required you may add at this time.
  7. Add little garam masala and chopped coriander leaves. Switch off flame.
  8. Close with Lid Let it rest for 5 minutes.

Serve hot with Pooris , Masala Dosa etc
